Alfredo Arias, el hombre de las mil y una cabezas.

Trabajadores de la danza

In Buenos Aires a group of acclaimed dancers create the first Contemporary National Company of Dance under their collective leadership. This is the story of four talented dancers, Ernesto, Bettina, Victoria and Pablo, along six years of their journey.

We follow their lives, we attend their rehearsals and performances in the emblematic National Library building as well as their premiere and backstage in the historical National Theatre of Cervantes. They expose their dreams and contradictions as dancers, individuals and members of a Company that is founded on collective decision-making. We observe the fulfillment of the entire dance community’s biggest dream: the public demand for a National Dance Law.

Original folklore songs and Latin American contemporary music accompany the choreographies and the narrative, which reveal the beauty and strength of dance through the life and struggle of a group of dancers.

Tango-Hasapiko, dance of the ports TRAILER .

Jorge Dermitzakis is the son of Greek immigrants in Argentina. After many years of teaching and performing Greek dances on stage, in 2010 he presents his emblematic work “Tango-Hasapiko” at the Teatro del Globo in Buenos Aires. This performance uses dance to reflect the double identity of the Greek Argentinean choreographer. The port, as a symbol of immigration and uprooting, also represents the crossroads of Argentinean tango and Greek Hasapiko.

The documentary tells the story and nostalgia of Greek immigrants in Buenos Aires and shows the collective effort which made the process of creating and staging “Tango Hasápiko” possible.
